Dear Hoover Family,
The Hoover Parent Teacher Association—your PTA—extends everyone warm greetings for a happy 2008! All of us are partners in our children’s education and school experience. One of the most critical components of that partnership is direct financial contributions from families to maintain many of Hoover’s top-quality programs that would otherwise not exist. We call these financial contributions the Annual Fund.
This year, our goal is $85,000.Your contributions to the PTA are absolutely necessary for some of the most basic programs at Hoover. In fact, the Hoover PTA’s $85,000 budget for the school year includes $60,000 in school staff salaries! Consider these school essentials that are funded by the Annual Fund:
- One .5 counseling position at Hoover is funded by contributions to the PTA. (SFUSD funds the other .5.)
- PTA money will supplement Proposition H money for the librarian to keep Hoover’s library open all week.
- Our comprehensive unified arts program (i.e., Independent Living Class – an invaluable resource for teaching life skills – is funded by the PTA).
- PTA pays for students’ activities—including a supplement to the 8 th Grade graduation festivities and the Spring Fair—and parent education events that build community.
Without your help our students may lose many of the valuable educational experiences that make Hoover so great!
We need every family to contribute to the Hoover PTA and support our school. To meet the school’s staffing and program needs, we are suggesting a minimum $250 contribution from each family with one child at Hoover, and a $350 contribution from each family with multiple children at Hoover. Of course, we recognize that not every family is able to contribute at these amounts. If this is the case, any amount is helpful and will be applied directly to school programs. For those who are able, a $500 or $1,000 contribution goes even further toward maintaining our school’s essential programs. We appreciate any amount you can give.
The Hoover PTA is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law. Cclick here to download the contribution slip.
